Stream Access Improvement Project

On August 24, 2019, nine volunteers from the PSA got together to improve a new access point on Crooked Creek. Steelheaders now have a new fishing trail leading to the creek bottom from Lucas Road, Latitude: 41.9834 Longitude: -80.401299, where perpetual easements exist on both sides of the stream. Putting in the work were Paul Krott, Daniel Beck, Skip Simmons, Chris Fatica, J.T Davis, Ron Miller, Karl Weixlmann, Michael Sayre and Brad Moore. A special thanks to Mike and Brad for coming up from West Virginia to help out, and for the Sweet Water IPA's that were supplied to group afterwards. That's what you call good steelhead karma. The trail goes down the hill to the right from a new graveled parking area on Mr. Richard Miller's property off of Lucas Road, just south of the Conrail tracks and Happy Valley Road. A big thank you to the Miller's for letting us complete this project which enhances access to this fine, little steelhead stream. More public access to Crooked Creek can also be found just downstream on the  south side of Happy Valley Road at the property formerly owned by Brad Salisbury, where the PFBC hopes to put in a new parking area in the near future. This property contains the largest pool found within the Crooked Creek watershed.
